Handy Checklist to Use when Looking for a Roofer

Matt Myers of HomeAdvisor created a very useful checklist that you can use when looking for the right roofing company to do your next roof repair, maintenance orinstallation job.  Selecting the best contractor for the job can ensure that you do not overpay for the job and that the work is done well.

Myers suggests that you:

  • Compare hourly rates or job rates from several different roofers
  • Contact roofers during the off-season but not when it is snowing
  • Compare base prices for various roofing materials including asphalt shinglesand cedar shakes
  • Ask to see samples of previously done jobs and review customertestimonials
  • Cheapest is not always best; consider skill and experience over price
  • Ask your roofer which material would work best for your roof
  • When possible, secure a warranty or guarantee
  • Determine how long the job will take

You can see the full checklist here.

If you live in the southwestern Chicago suburbs, be sure to include Baltic Home Improvements on your list of potential roofers. Our roofers are experienced and skillful and we take pride in a job well done. This is reflected in our high ratings from the Better Business Bureau and Angie’s List. Contact us today to learn more and schedule an appointment for a free estimate.
